The actress, model and dancer, María de los Ángeles Teresa de Jesús Villar Dondé, better known as Tere Velázquez , was born on March 8, 1942 in Mexico City. She is part of the group of actors from the so-called Golden Age of Mexican cinema. Her parents divorced when she was very little, her mother remarried, this time, to the actor Víctor Velázquez, from whom she and her sister take her last name. At age 12 she began studying drama and dance in San Francisco, California, where she learned to speak English. She began her career by participating in plays such as ‘Semilla en el aire and ‘La quinceañera impatient’ . In 1957 he debuted on the big screen with the film The Shadow of the Other , following with others such as Legs of Gold (1957), Three Lessons in Love (1959), Up and Down (1959) and, his first great success: Quinceañera (1960) . ). In 1962 she traveled to Spain to film, along with her sister Lorena, The Abduction of the Sabine Women. Her television experience includes projects such as Dream of Me Donaji (1967). Her last productions were the film Juan Nadie (1990) and the television series Los Hijos de Nadie (1996). She died on January 7, 1998 in Mexico City due to colon cancer that she suffered from.
