Although the developers are pretty aware of the fan outcry for a multiplayer mode that certainly would be a significant change and advancement for the game thanks to its genre and features, currently, there is no multiplayer open for Oxygen Not Included. Also, the developers plan to implement something other than a multiplayer option. They claim that the game was conceived as a single-player experience, so multiplayer was never in mind. Fair enough, the "if something is not broke, don't fix it" criteria works. Therefore, only some games must be multiplayer, and Oxygen Not Included will never be one. However, it would help if you still played the game. On the contrary, it is worth giving it a shot.

Oxygen Not Included Gameplay
Oxygen Not Included is a simulation survival game. At the start of a new game, three colonists (referred to as duplicates) find themselves in an asteroid with isolated pockets of breathable atmosphere, with no recollection of how they got there. The player manages and cares for these duplicates as they try to survive and create a sustainable makeshift space colony. The player must monitor the duplicates' hunger, waste, and oxygen levels to keep them alive. Each game's world is procedurally generated.

Oxygen Not Included Development and Release
Oxygen Not Included is created by Vancouver-based indie studio Klei Entertainment. The game was revealed for Windows during the PC Gaming Show at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016. It was also announced that the game would arrive to macOS and Linux. An in-development arrangement of the game was designed and emitted via early access on the year February 15, 2017. The game was initially slated to leave early access on May 28, 2019, but was pushed back to July 2019.
