1. Davecat

Davecat, who believes he is married to a doll named Sidore, is widely regarded as the basis for Lars and the Real Girl. In 2011, he appeared on My Strange Addiction. He prefers the word "idolator" to "objectum-sexual," and the brilliant and astonishingly charismatic 40-something-year-old has since been profiled about his love of "synthetics" by various significant outlets, including The Atlantic. All of the media attention has elevated him to the status of a public figure.

2. Adam Guerra

Adam Guerra appeared on the show due to his passion for impersonating Madonna. He's back in the grip of addiction after a pretty exaggerated meltdown on the television. Guerra, who performed on RuPaul's Drag Race before joining My Strange Addiction, has had 18 surgical procedures to look more like the notorious Madonna. Since leaving the program, he has been entangled in a public spat with fellow Drag Race alum Bianca Del Rio.
3. Divya Anantharaman

Divya Anantharaman is a Brooklyn resident who appeared on My Strange Addiction due to her apparent passion for taxidermy. While some news outlets have reported that Anantharaman kills the creatures herself, she is a self-proclaimed advocate of "ethical" taxidermy, which means that she only preserves animals already dead when she finds them.
4. The Objectum-Sexuals

The term "objectum-sexuality" refers to "an [sexual] orientation to love objects." Many objectum-sexuals have come on the show, believing that the inanimate things of their passion are alive and can speak telepathically. One episode, for example, focuses on a man who is in love with a variety of inflatable pool toys, another on a man who is in a committed sexual relationship with his car, and yet another on a man who believes he is married to a sex doll whom he dresses daily.

5. Lauren

Several testimonials from people who have been on the show indicate that TLC edited the film to make them appear stranger and more afflicted by their addictions than they are. Lauren, who appeared on My Strange Addiction in 2009 for her "furry" fetish, said in a Reddit AMA that "it was bizarre."
6. Sheyla Hershey

Sheyla Hershey, a Brazilian model, is well-known for her addiction to breast implants. After a car accident, she acquired a life-threatening illness in her size triple-K chest due to ruptures in her size triple-K breast implants. Hershey devastated her husband and two children when, after having the implants (as well as much of her breast tissue) removed to save her from the hazardous illness, she attempted suicide and fell into a coma.
