Many influencers have taken advantage of this and put themselves in a position of fame and yes they have profited off it. It is a good short-term plan to make money, however, when considering the reputation these people have and the things that they have to live with, you have to ask; is the momentary fame and money worth it?

Even when considering from a financial perspective, you have profited from this one controversy and had your five seconds of fame. It is over faster than it begins though, so what to do when the money runs out, create another controversy? At one point it will no longer be a controversy. It will just be a behavior pattern and at that point, you can’t profit from it anymore.

For anyone genuinely considering making a career on the internet as an influencer, consider the sustainability of your business model. Controversy is not going to take you far and it is not something to be proud of.
