Milena Markovna Kunis is the younger of Elvira and Mark Kunis’ two children and was born on August 14, 1983 in Chernivtsi, Ukrainian SSR in the Soviet Union. The Kunis family moved to the United States when their daughter was 7 after reportedly suffering from anti-Semitism because, among other things, they were Jewish.
Just two days after arriving in the US, Kunis enrolled at Rosewood Elementary School, where she experienced a huge culture shock as she couldn’t speak English and the people around her were acting strange.
