Max Riemelt was born on January 7th , 1984 in Mitte, a district in the eastern part of Berlin. His nationality is therefore German while his ethnicity is Caucasian. The actor comes from a family of four. His father’s name is Gunna Riemelt while his mother’s name is Judith. He also has a younger brother named Lukas who is an aspiring actor. Riemelt grew up in Berlin and fell in love with acting at school. He started acting as a child and made his debut in a German television film in 1997. A kissable family. In the series, Riemelt played the role of Wolfgang Bogdanow – a Berlin locksmith and safe-cracker who is involved in organized crime and has unresolved issues with his father. In keeping with the global theme of the show , Sinn8 was filmed in multiple locations worldwide and featured actors from different parts of the world. The series ran from 2015 to 2018, eventually ending with a two and a half series finale in June 2018.

Riemelt has won multiple awards over the course of his two-decade (and counting) career. Among them are the best actor at the Karlovy Vary International Film Festival 2004, the German Shooting Star Award 2005 from the European Film Promotion Council, the best actor at the Marrakech International Film Festival 2006, the best young actor at the Bavaria Film Award 2006, the Undine Award for the Best Young Actor in a Feature Film in 2008 and Best Actor at the Guenter Rohrbach Film Prize 2013. One of Riemelt’s most popular films is the 2013 film Free Fall. In Freier Fall, Der Berliner played the role of a novice gay policeman Kay Engel who falls in love with his direct colleague Marc. The two lovers then have to deal with the police, their parents, problems getting out and Marc’s pregnant wife.
