BIOGRAPHY
Lucía Guilmáin was a Mexican actress, born on January 5, 1938, in Mexico City. Daughter of the legendary actress Ofelia Guilmáin, Lucía never doubted that her path was to follow in her mother’s footsteps and began her professional career towards the mid-60s, with films such as Río Hondo (1965), Especialista en chamacas ( 1965 ) and in Mexican genre cinema of the 1970s, with appearances in Las Fuerzas Viva (1975) and Longitude de Guerra (1976). But her career is remembered for her constant and intimidating presence on television and soap operas, generally being the ruthless villain of said programs, as well as the antagonist of children’s programs or novels, standing out in For Love (1981), Glory and Hell ( 1986), The Owner (1995), Adventures in Time (2001), among several others. The actress died on February 15, 2021, at the age of 83, due to complications after contracting COVID-19.
