BIOGRAPHY
Leonardo Sbaraglia is an Argentine actor, founding member of the Academy of Cinematographic Arts and Sciences of Argentina. He studied theater and made his film debut at the age of 16 with the film The Night of the Pencils (1986). In 2001 he made his debut in Spanish cinema with the film Intacto , in which he played the role of Tomás, for which he received his first Goya Award in the category of Best New Actor. Since then, he has alternated working between his native country and Spain. . He acted in the film Salvador (2006), starring Daniel Brühl. He played prison officer Jesús Irurre, a role for which he earned his second Goya Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. In 2009 he starred in the miniseries Epitafios in Argentina , for which he was nominated for the International Emmy Award for Best Actor in 2010. He was one of the protagonists of Damián Szifron’s renowned film, Relatos Savages (2014) and was part of the cast of Dolor y Gloria (2019) by Pedro Almodovar, one of the films best received by critics at the 2019 Cannes Festival.
