Biography,

Keira Christina Knightley was born on March 26, 1985, in a suburb of South West London. She was originally named ‘Kiera’ but her mother misspelled it as ‘Keira’ on the birth certificate and they decided to drop the error.

Is she related to Natalie Portman?

The two actresses certainly bear a striking resemblance, however, they are in no way related to us. For starters, Knightley is English while Portman is American.

Due to their resemblance, Knightley was cast as Queen Amidala’s servant in Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace (1999) while Natalie Portman played the queen.

The resemblance between these two is so close that their own mothers were unable to tell them apart once in costume and in costume for the film. Knightley’s role as decoy queen was kept under wraps so as not to spoil the surprise. Thanks to promotions, fans were tricked into believing that Portman was playing both roles.

Her impersonation of Portman goes beyond Star Wars as the Englishman says Keira Knightley has admitted to taking photos and signing autographs for fans who mistook her for Natalie Portman. Explaining that she’s not Natalie Portman has to do a lot of work for Knightley, so she decides to play with the fans.
