The game largely received positive reviews for its unique design from critics. The game is set in the 1300s during the troubled times of the Hundred Year’s War. You play the game as Amicia de Rune who has a younger brother Hugo. Her brother is sick from birth and her mother is an alchemist looking to find a cure. But the black plague arrives at her village along with inquisition troops who arrive in search of her brother. They kill both her parents but the kids manage to escape. So the objective of the game is to find a possible cure for her brother. Doing this requires players to evade hostile villages, Inquisition soldiers and hordes of ravenous rats.
