Nope! It’s not Jennifer Lawrence, but her friend Haley Bennett, who, like Jen, is blonde and above all also gifted as an actress.

Bennet may seem like a new face, but she’s been in the entertainment industry for over ten years! that’s not a typo… She made her film debut in 2007 in the romantic comedy film Music and Lyrics. Read on to find out everything there is to know about Haley Bennet.

Haley Bennett Bio, Family

She is known professionally as Haley Bennet, however, Haley was born as Haley Loraine Keeling on January 7, 1988 in Fort Myers Florida and raised in Naples Florida. She was born to Leilani (née Bennett Dorsey) and Ronald Keeling, who became single parents after her birth. Since her parents weren’t together, Haley has had to spend her time growing up partly with mom and partly with dad.

As she explained to GQ Magazine, Haley had the best of both worlds. Her passion for the arts was likely sparked by her artistic mother, who we guess also learned to cook. Haley is very passionate about baking and offers a professional kitchen. If it fails, the strategy is highly unlikely to work.

Her father did a lot to dilute her femininity by turning her into a tomboy, she explained that her tomboyish peak was in sixth or seventh grade. Her time with dad began in her teens when she moved to the woods in Stow, Ohio.

Haley learned to hunt and fish from her father. She was able to handle a gun and dress a deer early on. In an interview with Interview magazine, Haley recalled those moments calling them traumatic.

What other tomboy things has she done? She tried the sport and was bad at driving. She drove four-wheeled vehicles, which she turned one at a time. Haley was not allowed to wear makeup or wear certain clothes and having a boyfriend was a no-no!

Although it may seem unbearable, Haley had a great time in Ohio where her extended family members also lived, including grandmas, aunts, uncles and cousins.

While in Stow, Haley attended Stow-Munroe Falls High School where she performed in school plays, something she started doing since she was 10 years old. Haley also sang in school and church choirs.

These two talents were key to bringing him the lead role in music and lyrics in 2007. A huge role for a 19-year-old just starting out in Hollywood. The movie where Haley sang most of the soundtracks was a massive hit grossing around $150 million off a $40 million budget. This was followed by a recording contract with 550 Music/NuSound Records, but Haley never became a professional singer.

Although Haley is expected to become something of a blockbuster immediately, her career has entered a rather prolonged slow phase.

As is the case with most actors, Haley ventured into the dark after her first role. “I got lost, I broke. I was heartbroken by the roles I never could have played because you know what it is,” she said of that dark time.

However, Haley managed to stay calm as she continued to forge ahead, taking roles in movies that would be forgotten as soon as they hit theaters.

“But I kept doing it. What else was I going to do?

A few of her post Music and Lyrics credits included College (2008) and The Haunting of Molly Hartley (2008) which, besides Music and Lyrics, was part of a three-film deal she signed with Warner Bros.

She had roles in Marley & Me (2008), The Hole (2010), Kaboom (2010), Arcadia Lost (2010), Deep Powder (2013), etc.

Haley finally started turning heads in mid-2016. Her meeting with Antoine Fuqua, presented by filmmaker Terrence Malick, turned out to be the big thing she had been waiting for for a decade. Fuqua gave him a role in his 2014 film The Equalizer, impressed he gave him another in “The Magnificent Seven,” which also co-starred big names like Denzel Washington, Ethan Hawke and Chris Pratt.

Haley then cemented her presence in the film with critically acclaimed roles in The Girl on the Train, Rules Don’t Apply and Thank You for Your Service. She is about to become a household name in Hollywood.

She became the new face of the Parisian luxury fashion house in early 2018.

Husband

Haley has been in a number of relationships known to the media, however, as of this writing, she is single. Her first known media relationship was with actor Rick Malambri. The relationship reportedly only lasted a year, from 2008 to 2009. She was then reportedly linked to fellow actor Zach Cregger in 2010. Haley reportedly entered into a relationship with filmmaker Joe Wright in early 2018.
