The actress was born on November 27, 1981 in Los Angeles, California. She is the daughter of her father, Mahmoud Gharachedaghi, an architect who runs boutique architecture studios. While her mother runs the textile and clothing industry. Her family moved to Los Angeles in 1975. She has an older sister, Leila Gharachedaghi, a business woman who is involved in various business projects including real estate, fashion and beauty.
During high school, she was a gymnast and competed for a spot on the US Olympics team at the age of 15. He but he left gymnastics to make his career in the entertainment industry.
