George Stephanopoulos is a well known American journalist. In addition to being a journalist, he is also known as a political commentator, former Democratic political adviser and operative. Currently, he is the chief correspondent and anchor for ABC News. He also works as a co-anchor for Good Morning America. In fact, he began his career as an adviser to the Democratic Party, then became the communications director for Bill Clinton’s presidential campaign.

George Stephanopoulos: early life, career and nationality
George Stephanopoulos was born on February 10, 1961 in Massachusetts, which makes his nationality American. He was born to parents Nickolitsa “Nikki” Gloria and Robert George Stephanopoulos who are of Greek descent. George’s father was a Greek priest, while his mother worked for the National News Service of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America as its director for many years. He went to Orange High School on Pepper Pike and graduated from Columbia University in New York with a minor in political science. At his father’s wish, George went on to serve as aide to Democratic Congressman Ed Feighan of Ohio. He subsequently graduated from Oxford with a Master of Theology.
Stephanopoulos became a leading member of the Clinton presidential campaign in 1992. However, after Clinton was re-elected as president, George resigned in 1996. He also published a memoir about his time in the White House, which it became a New York Times Bestseller. In September 2002, he officially became the host of the show called, This Week. The channel also named him “chief Washington correspondent” in December 2005. The show made slow but steady progress, and George’s television career finally took off. He replaced Diane Sawyer on Good Morning America after she left, but later returned to This Week after the show failed to get good views after its leave.
