Daniel Kaluuya was born on February 24, 1989 inLondon to Ugandan immigrants, Damalie Namusoke and Stephen Kaluuya. As a child, his parents separated for unknown reasons. His mother then took over the task of caring for him along with an older sister. All three lived on a country estate in Kentish Town while his father Stephen Kaluuya lived in Uganda and rarely made it to the UK to visit them due to visa laws. Growing up, Kaluuya enrolled at St Aloysius College, London.

Despite the difficult times his family was going through,Daniel Kaluuya took an interest in writing from an early age and wrote his first play at the age of nine. As a young boy, he began acting at his local Anna Scher Theater School and WAC Arts. In the 2000s, while still a teenager, the actor made his career debut in improv theater. His early films include playing the controversial BBC drama Shoot the Messenger as Reece.

He subsequently co-wrote a number of episodes of the British television series Skins including episodes titled Jal and Thomas . He also starred as Posh Kenneth in the first two seasons of the film. Numerous famous television series such as the Doctor Who Christmas Special , Planet of the Dead and Lewis and the Silent Witness also followed He also starred in the sketch show That Mitchell and Webb Look Twice The handsome actor also voiced a character on the BBC Radio 4 sitcom Sneakiepeeks .

In 2009 he started his project in the BBC comedy Psychoville in which he portrayed Michael Fry. As he became more successful, he was selected as the UK Star of Tomorrow by Screen International Magazine. In the same year he became a regular on the ITV comedy FM. He also starred in Roy Williams’ Sucker Punch at the Royal Court Theater in London.

For his outstanding performance on the show, the London-born star garnered rave reviews. He has also received the Evening Standard Award and the Critics Circle Theater Award for Outstanding Newcomer.

In 2011, Kaluuya starred in a handful of short films such as Agent Tucker, Kick-Ass (a superhero film), and Reborn (a sequel to the 2003 film Johnny English ). He also appeared in BBC3’s supernatural drama series The Fades as Mac Armstrong. He acted in short films until 2013 with his most notable role being Daniel Mulloy’s Baby – a film recognized for excellence, winning the Best Short Film Award at the Edinburgh International Film Festival. It also won the Best Short Film award at the British Independent Film Awards. The feat boosted his career potential, and in 2015 he starred as an FBI agent in a thriller film Sicario directed by Denis Villeneuve.

He also received a starring role in Fifteen Million Merits , an installment in the Black Mirror anthology series . Luckily, his role in the film was well-received, with genuinely positive responses from critics flooding the internet. The episode originally premiered on Channel 4 in 2011, but it wasn’t until Netflix in the US that it made so many waves. In the same role, Jordan Peele (producer, director, actor, writer and comedian) noted the outstanding talent of the English actor. His biggest break came when Jordan later cast him in the film Get Out. After it was released in theaters in 2017, the film not only captivated many, it also made them express admiration for the actor. With such huge success, the brilliant British actor received multiple nominations and recognitions including an Academy Award for Best Actor, a Golden Globe, a SAG Award, a BAFTA Award and a Critic Choice Award. In addition to being nominated multiple times, he won the BAFTA Rising Star Award.

He was praised again for his performance in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Black Panther which was released in the United States on February 16, 2018.
