Someone on Twitter, @TrashidaL, tweeted their confirmation that the suspect's surname is Germanic. The suspect's name, they added, has "Germanic and Austrian origin."
@elefneshikot also claimed that Bryan was a Christian. The suspect's Christian faith is "Christopher obviously indicates a Christian family."
Tweeter account @DenbrotS also reported that Kohberger's alma mater, the Catholic-affiliated DeSales University, had issued a statement expressing their "devastation" at the killings. It said in the release:
"As a Catholic, Salesian community, we are devastated by this senseless tragedy. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims' families during this difficult time."
