A young Geelong family is preparing to work their magic on a 1930s era Newtown house having secured the property after auction.
The home, Eryldene, at 100 Noble St sold for $1.175m following Saturday’s auction where two bidders competed before the property was passed in.
The four-bedroom residence occupies a terraced 675sq m block on the north side of Noble St overlooking palm trees and Bareena Bowls Club.

Listing agent Jim Cross, of McGrath, Newtown, said the buyers were excited after negotiating the deal.
“They plan on doing a full renovation and extension there,” Mr Cross said.
“They’re really excited. They’ve got two young children and they are really excited to get into the Newtown area for the schools.”
Bidding opened at $1m for the property, with the two parties taking the price to $1.06m before auctioneer David Cortous passed in the property.
Mr Cortous said buyers had the opportunity to add value to the property, which has a north-facing backyard.
“You could add value by extending, renovating or updating the property. It’s blue chip Newtown, beautiful tree-lined Noble St.”
The house has four bedrooms, a study or fifth bedroom, a formal living-dining room with an open fireplace at the centre of the house, and a living, meals and kitchen area at the rear.
The modernisation has delivered the design elements required for comfortable family living and retained character features, such as leadlight windows.
The kitchen has Caesarstone benchtops, a gas cooktop, an electric oven and a dishwasher. It’s adjacent to the casual meals and living area, which is a lovely, light space.
Glass sliding doors open this room to the north-facing back yard.
The location of this beautiful home is a major drawcard for buyers with their eyes on living in this premium suburb.
